Bad Case of the Blahs

Do you experience the Sunday night “blahs”? You know, the absolute dread that fills you every Sunday night in anticipation of the new workweek starting. If so, you may be suffering from a nasty case of career burnout. Gorgeous one, you’re not alone. No need to jump ship just yet. Here are a few things you can do to recharge your work life.

Always take a lunch break. Seriously. Your brain needs a change of scenery every now and then to keep those creative juices flowing. Make it a point to step away every day, at least for 30 minutes.

Junk food is not the answer.  Sad but true. It may taste delicious going down, but it is guaranteed to have you crashing within the hour.

Take your vacation days! Studies show that nonstop work can lead to on-the-job mistakes and even sickness. Don’t be a martyr. In fact, no one is likely to even notice if you work through your vacation days. The benefits your body, mind, and spirit will receive as a result of your time away will create more efficient, creative work in the long run.

Delegate. Although you may like to believe so, you’re not the only soul in the office capable of handling projects and deadlines. Share the load. It’s all about teamwork, baby.
